Wright Brothers Press Photography & Postcards
Wright Brothers Press Photography & Postcard Collection with 1908 London Daily Mirror. Six postcards, three press photos, one newspaper. The postcards are all 3.5" x 5.5" from Le Mans, France, 1908. Five black and white real photo postcards; one lithographed postcard. All unused. The postcards depict the Wright Brothers' "Flying Machine" and a Record-Breaking Flight at Camp d'Auvours, France. Some spotting to the correspondence side, pencil notations on lithograph postcard, else fine condition. The three black & white press photos are all 6" x 8" from London, 1908. One of the photographs of Wilbur Wright talking with three men in front of the flying machine was used on the cover of the August 15, 1908 edition of The Daily Mirror that accompanies this lot. Two of the three press photos are stamped; one is handwritten; all three are labeled as belonging to the "Illustrations Bureau", presumably of The Daily Mirror. The photographs display some creasing and mild paper loss at the corners of two of the photos, else fine condition. The newspaper shows mild foxing and some wear at the edges, but is overall in very good condition. Information furnished with the lot establishes provenance for this unique collection as from the estate of George Quick's son. Quick was personal secretary to Hart Berg, a financier of the Wright Brothers. A wonderful collection of Wright brothers images.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
