Woven silk color picture of a couple walking down a dangerous path (Le Sentier Dangereux). It is signed NF on the lower left (for Neyret Freres et Cie., a French textile manufacturer who produced woven silk pictures on traditional jacquard looms) and HANZA on the lower left, most likely after Johann Hamza (1850-1927), a painter of architecture, interior and genre scenes who was born in Telsch (Czech Republic) and died in Vienna. Hamza studied under Ed. von Engerth at the Academie de Vienne. He exhibited in Vienna, Dresden and Munich. His preferred motifs were Rococo scenes. He is listed in Benezit and his works are in high demand. In very good used condition with minor signs of wear as shown.
