World's Finest Comics #12 (DC, 1943) CGC VF/NM 9.0 Off-white to white pages. VF/NM is a difficult grade for a square bound book to attain, especially one from the Golden Age! And in fact, this is the only copy to be assigned such a high grade as of this writing. There's good stuff for Bat-fans in this issue: for one, there's Jack Burnley's cover with a Bat-vehicle that was seldom (if ever?) seen elsewhere, and inside there's a Dick Sprang-drawn story called, "Alfred Gets His Man!" More like "Alfred gets himself in trouble, and the Dynamic Duo get their man," but that's still beyond the call of duty for a butler... Note that a small plastic stabilizing peg is loose inside the CGC holder, not affecting the comic itself or the integrity of the holder. Overstreet 2006 VF/NM 9.0 value = $1,372; NM- 9.2 value = $1,875. CGC census 3/06: 1 in 9.0, none higher. From the Collection of Harold Curtis.
