World’s Fair Mining Company Stock Certificate
No. 626 issued to D. P Ottenheimer by E. S. C. Dwinell, Secretary, and L. E. Sherman, President, on 26 October for 1,000 shares.  Signed on reverse by Ottenheimer and a witness but not dated.  U/C.  Excellent condition.  Incorporated in Colorado in 1892, J. M. White reported in 1896 that the company had no dept.  The firm had claims at Mineral Hill, Tenderfoot Hill, and Big Bull Mountain.  It also had property “at the foot of Mount Pisgah.”  All of the property was in the process of being patented in 1896.  The company did not give the number of acres it owned then [Ref:  White, Cripple Creek Up to Date, p. 64, 1896]. In 1900, Fred Hills reported the firm owned “the Job Lot,” which consisted of “a little over two acres, in the S. E. 1-4 [of] section 7, on Tenderfoot hill.  Patented . . . ” and being worked by lessees [Ref:  Hills, Official Manual of the Cripple Creek District, p. 492, 1900]. Rare.
