Powerful pair of World War I-era propaganda posters: a color 47.5 x 34.75 linen-backed poster of artwork by Abel Faivre, which shows a bunting of Allied flags bearing down over a retreating Kaiser Wilhelm II, with text along the lower border reading, "L’Emprunt de la Liberation," printed by Maquet of Paris, circa 1918; and a 20.75 x 17 advertisement featuring a detailed sketch by artist Joseph Pennell, which features a shipyard with cranes and a ship covered in rigging with planes flying overhead, with bold text in the lower border, "Provide the Sinews of War, Buy Liberty Bonds," printed by Heywood Strasser & Voigt Litho. Co. circa 1918. The Faivre poster is rolled, and the Pennell poster is framed to a slightly larger size. In overall fine condition, with a missing lower right corner to the smaller poster.
