Collection of over sixty items belonging to WWII Army General Robert C. Richardson III, consisting of his medals, ribbons, bars, and other awards. Among these are his: Legion of Merit medal with ribbon and clasp; Bronze Star medal with ribbon and clasp ; European African Middle Eastern Campaign medal with ribbon and clasp; Valley Forge Military Academy Cavalry ROTC and two Rifle Team medals with ribbons; forty-eight ribbons, most on holding bars; two chromed stars; four eagle insignias; nine unattached ribbons; and a ribbon with ten miniature medals and ribbons including his Legion of Merit, European African Middle Eastern Campaign (four stars attached representing four campaigns), French Croix de Guerre (one star attached), World War II Victory, and World War II Army Occupation. All medals are available in miniature to the recipient of the full-sized medal except the Medal of Honor; these medals are mounted on a holding bar in order of precedence from the wearer’s right to left. In overall very good to fine condition. Accompanied by a leather box. Richardson was a renowned expert in tactical nuclear warfare, NATO, and military long range planning.
