The pistol has the standard one line "ac44" slide marking with the right side of the slide featuring an eagle firing proof flanked by "Eagle/359" proofs. An additional "Eagle/359" proof is stamped on the left side of barrel lug. The left side of the frame is stamped with an "Eagle/140" proof. The "Eagle/140" proof was reserved for P38 pistol components manufactured for assembly by Walther at the Fabrique Nationale D'Armes De Guerre plant in Herstal, Belgium. "Eagle/140" Waffenamt proofed frames manufactured in Belgium began in the mid "g" block serial number range. The left side of the frame is stamped "M1", a marking associated with FN manufactured frames. The visible "h" block serial numbers match. The blue magazine is stamped "jvd". The pistol is fitted with a set of standard ribbed grips.
