World War II U.S. Property Marked Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless Semi-Automatic Pistol with Factory Letter

This example is accompanied by a Colt factory letter dates March 2004, stating that this pistol was shipped in Feb 1945 to the Commanding Officer, Washington Quartermaster Depot, Cameron VA., C/O Property Officer Pentagon Building, Wash D.C. It is fitted with the late Type IV Variation with bottom magazine release. The slide is marked with the two line Colt address and patent dates, marked "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A." over the 1897-1903 patent dates, with the Rampant Colt logo behind the slide serrations. The serial number is stamped on the left side of the frame with the Colt factory "VP/Triangle" proof on the front portion of the trigger guard bow. The right side of the slide is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 32 RIMLESS SMOKELESS", with "U.S. PROPERTY" stamped directly below that on the frame. This pistol is complete with an original blue magazine marked on the bottom of the base "CAL .32/COLT". This exceptional pistol is accompanied by the book "The Colt Pocket Hammerless Automatic Pistol" by Brunner.
