World War II U.S. Army Remington Model 1903A4 Sniper Rifle Complete with Original Weaver 330 Scope

This is an excellent example of a WWII Remington Arms Model 1903A4 Sniper Rifle manufactured in the first block of serial numbers, in the 1943 time frame. These heavily used in WWII then again in Korea and even in Vietnam. The receiver is correctly marked "U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3" and serial number "3417718", with the top of the barrel marked "RA/Ordnance Bomb/9-43". It has a WWII Redfield style square ends, scope base that is complete with the military configuration Weaver, M73B1 sniper scope. The scope has the standard cross-hair reticle and is marked "TELESCOPE M73B1/PATS. PEND./W.R. WEAVER CO./EL. PASO TX." The right side is stamped "TELESCOPE No." with the serial number 30580 etched behind the markings. The rifle has a stamped, parkerized trigger guard and blued barrel bands with an original blued sniper rifle bolt assembly. The bolt is stamped with a small "R" on the underside of the bolt handle. The stock is a correct wartime "C" stock that is marked on the left side with a "RA/Ordnance Crossed-cannon Cartouche/FJA" inspector marks. There is a M over circled "P" proof on the inside of the pistol grip.

BBL: 24 inch round
Stock: walnut
Guage: 30-06
Finish: parkerized
Grips:
Serial Number: 3417718

Very fine with 85% of a arsenal refurbished parkerized finish overall, with edge and high spot wear. The stock is very good with a nice medium brown color overall with handling marks, scratches and light pressure dents on the sides of the forend area. The scope retains 70% of its blue finish with some light peppery spotting/erosion on the front end of the scope tube. The optics are clear and sharp. Mechanically excellent. A fine representative example of a WWII sniper rifle.
