World War II U.S. Army Inland M1 Carbine with M1A1 Paratrooper Style Stock

This is a mid-WWII M1 Carbine manufactured in late 1943. It has the standard receiver markings with the barrel stamped "INLAND MFG. DIV./GENERAL MOTORS/12-43", that has been fitted with a restored M1A1 paratrooper stock. The carbine has the type 1 barrel band, 2 rivet handguard, flat parkerized bolt, type 1 two-position flip rear sight stamped "S" on the side. It has a type II Inland marked trigger housing with an "HI" marked hammer, unmarked push button safety and unmarked magazine catch. The carbine is fitted with a correct pattern replacement walnut stock with the high wood that is stamped "IO" inside. The rear of the stock above the pistol grip has the circled "P" proof, with a small ordnance cartouche on the underside of the pistol grip. The buttplate has the cast markings and a replaced leather cheekpiece. The carbine includes a 20 round magazine and a WWII green web sling.

Very fine as restored with 95% of the correct style parkerized finish overall with clear markings. The stock is the correct pattern with a fine restored dark walnut color overall with a restamped proof on the rear. The folding wire stock has been reparkerized. A nice looking example of a restored Inland M1 Carbine with a M1A1 paratrooper stock.
