Lot of two black and white panorama photographs of Camp Edwards, Massachusetts, and the Reception Center at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Photos are 42 x 11 inches. During and after World War II Fort Dix served the same purpose as in the first World War, as a training and staging ground during the war and a demobilization center after the war. In 1940, the U.S. Army leased Camp Edwards as a training facility as part of its mobilization strategy for World War II. The Army undertook significant construction which helped to expand Camp Edwards from a rustic military post to a small city, overflowing with new GIs.
