World War II Remington Model 1903A4 Sniper Rifle with Weaver M73B1 Scope and Sling

This is a WWII Remington Arms Model 1903A4 Sniper Rifle as manufactured in 1943 in the first block of serial numbers. These were the standard WWII sniper rifle that was also used on a limited basis again in Korea. The receiver is marked "U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3" on the left side with the serial number "3420932" on the right. The top of the two-groove barrel is marked "RA/Ordnance Bomb/8-43". It has a WWII Redfield style square end, parkerized scope base that is fitted with the 2.5X Weaver, M73B1 sniper scope with one parkerized and one blued weaver scope ring. The scope has the standard cross-hair reticle and is marked "TELESCOPE M73B1/PATS. PEND./W.R. WEAVER CO./EL. PASO TX." The right side is stamped "TELESCOPE No." with the serial number 34207 etched behind the markings. The rifle has a stamped blued trigger guard with blued barrel bands with a blued sniper rifle bolt assembly. The bolt is stamped with a small "R" on the underside of the bolt handle. The stock is a correct wartime "C" stock that is marked on the left side with "RA/Ordnance Crossed-cannon Cartouche/FJA" inspector marks, with various subinspector proofs in front of the trigger guard. It is complete with a green WWII style web sling and the later pattern plastic scope caps.

Excellent with 98% of the original parkerized/blue finish overall with light wear on the bolt body from cycling the action. The stock is also excellent with minor handling marks with clear distinct cartouches and proofs. The scope retains 95% of its blue finish with clear optics with the cross-hair reticle intact. An exceptional original WWII 03-A4 sniper rifle.
