This is a very fine example of a rare second pattern Presentation Luftwaffe dagger, that has an unmarked 9 3/4 inch Damascus pattern blade. It is fitted with the correct aluminum cross-guard with the swooping Luftwaffe eagle on the front with the stippled backside and Oak Leaf decoration on top of the cross guard. It has an ivory grip with braided silver wire wrapping and the correct cast aluminum pommel that depicts Germanic Oak leaves with a raised German Swastika in the center. The ivory grip is with a silver braided portapee with matching solid acorn. It is complete with the correct second type Luftwaffe scabbard with the belt hanger, blue and silver straps with the gold painted buckles and clasps.

Fine condition overall with clear distinct Damascus etching on the blade with no makers mark as noted above. The ivory grip is very fine with nice mellow/slightly darkened color overall with intact silver wire wrap. The Scabbard is also in fine condition with a darkened color overall with minor erosion along the front edge with minor casting porosity marks on the lower end of the scabbard. The portapee is very fine and fully intact. The belt hanger and straps are all in very good condition showing wear and use. A nice example of a very scarce second pattern Luftwaffe dagger with a rare Damascus blade.
