World War II Nazi Model K98 Bolt Action Sniper Rifle with Single Claw Scope Mounts and Scope

This is a mid-WWII K98 rifle that has been assembled into a late war Single Claw sniper rifle using a set of current reproduction scope mounts with a commercial Zeiss scope. The receiver wall is marked "Mod.98". The top of the front and rear receiver ring is covered by the scope bases. The left rear area of the barrel has the serial number and barrel steel marks "ch 93902" over a restamped (spurious) "SS/Death's Head" proof. Milled barrel bands, stamped trigger guard and milled floor plate. The scope is a commercial post-war Zeiss marked "Zeiss/Zielvier" on the rear of the tube. Laminated stock with restamped single "H" and Waffenamt proofs on the right side. A custom cupped buttplate that has an extra piece added to the back sides and checkered. With a reproduction cross hatch leather sling.

Manufucture: Steyr
Model: 98K
BBL: 24 inch round
Stock: laminated
Guage: 7.92 mm Mauser
Finish: blue
Grips:
Serial Number: 6949

Refinished, assembled and remarked with half of the blue finish showing finish loss on the exposed metal surfaces. The stock and handguard are both very good with heavy scratches and light pressure dents overall showing on old light sanding and revarnishing. The scope retains 50% of the blue finish with clear optics. A good representative example of a late war German sniper rifle.
