This is a very fine original 1939 dated Mauser Banner Police Luger pistol with the scarce early "Eagle/C" Police proof. The top of the chamber area is stamped "1939" for the year of manufacture with the large "Mauser Banner" logo on the front toggle. The "Eagle/C" Police proof is stamped on the right side of the receiver, with the Nazi "Eagle/U" commercial proofmark stamped on the left side of the receiver and the breechblock. The full serial number "1603w" is stamped on the front of the frame, with "1603" stamped on the left side of the barrel extension with the last two digits of the serial number (03) stamped on the various small parts. This Luger is complete with two original Police magazine; one unmarked blue version and the other is a nickel plated, Haenel Schmeisser marked version. They are marked on the aluminum bases; "1/1211/w/Eagle C" and "2/8065/Eagle proof" respectively. It is complete with a black leather Police holster, the back is marked "OTTO SINDEL/BERLIN/1939/Police Eagle" proof mark with a reproduction takedown tool.

BBL: 3 3/4 inch round
Stock:
Guage: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 1603w

Very fine overall with 85% plus of the original blue finish overall. The walnut grips are also in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering on both sides with minor handling marks with minor wear across the tops of the checkered diamonds. Mechanically excellent. The holster is also in very fine condition with nice original color overall with minor wear across the top of the flap with tight stitching and clear distinct markings on the back. This desirable Luger has matching numbers except the magazines noted above and the grips which are unnumbered. A nice original WWII Luger Police rig.
