World War II Mauser  ar  Code Model K98 Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet
This is an excellent example of a mid war "ar" code K98 rifle manufactured by Mauser-Werke, A.-G., Werk Borsigwalde, Berlin-Borsigwalde, Eichborndamn. The top of the receiver ring is marked "eagle/20 / ar / 43" and the left side is marked with a Nazi firing proof and the serial number. The left rear of the barrel is marked with a Nazi firing proof and the top with an "eagle/20" proof mark. The left side wall is marked "Mod. 98". Hooded front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 200 meters. All milled parts. All visible numbers match. The rifle is mounted with a correct laminated stock and hand guard with a cupped buttplate and absent of any markings. Complete with a slotted cleaning rod, brown leather sling and Bayonet with metal scabbard and leather frog. The bayonet has a blue blade marked "W.K.C." with serrated Bakelite handle, metal scabbard and leather frog marked "cgn / 43" on the back.

Condition: Excellent. The rifle retains 97% original blue finish with some thinning on the barrel and floorplate, some overall high edge wear and minor flaking on the front barrel band. The lightly sanded stock is fine with a few scattered minor dings and handling marks. The bayonet, scabbard and frog are all excellent showing very little use or wear. The sling is very good with some light scuffs and stains. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
