This is a nice example of an original 1939 dated Mauser luger pistol. This series of luger has the all salt blued finish with the checkered walnut grips. The top of the chamber area is dated 1939 with the "42" code markings on the top of the front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension has the double "eagle/63" Waffenamt proofs next to the single spread winged Nazi eagle firing proof which also appears on the right side of the barrel and the left side of the breechblock. The upper safety area and extractor are marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively. The pistol is fitted with an all blued, unmarked folded steel magazine with the aluminum base marked with "6396y/eagle 63" Waffenamt proof.
