Produced in Suhl by J.P. Sauer & Sons. Hooded ramp blade front and tangent rear sights, with the "eagle/ swastika" stamp on the left side of the barrel and receiver ring, "eagle/ 280" proof on the right side of the ring, "ce/ 43" manufacturer/ date code on top of the ring, and "Mod.98" in script on the left receiver wall. Matching numbers on the front receiver ring, rear sight base, receiver, takedown catch, bolt components, trigger base and floor plate. Outfitted with milled components. Smooth laminate stock, with "eagle/ 359" proofs on the underside of the butt, cupped buttplate and a brown leather sling. Fitted with a bayonet, numbered "7582" and "43ddl" (Josua Cort, Nordrhein-Westfalen), 10" blade, ribbed brown grip and matching numbered sheath.

Condition: Very fine, with 75% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, along with mild handling marks. The stock is fine, with a few light chips and scattered dings. Bayonet is excellent, and the sling is supple. Mechanically excellent.
