Model 1911A1 Automatic Pistol manufactured by the Ithaca Gun Co., in 1945. This 6th Contract pistol was one of 5000 shipped to the Rock Island Ordnance Depot on May 7, 1945. The pistol has a full blue magazine with "S" (Scoville Mfg. Co.) marked floor plate. The barrel was made by the Flannery Bolt Co., and is stamped with an "F" on the right side of the lug and a "P" on the left side. The Keys Fibre Co., stocks have reinforcing rings around the screw holes, interior strengthening ribs and have mold numbers and a five-pointed star on the inside. A distinctive Ithaca factory proof mark is stamped on the upper left side of the trigger guard. The right side of the frame is hand-stamped with the Ordnance Corps escutcheon behind the grip. "UNITED STATES PROPERTY/ No 2525565" is roll-stamped on the right side of the frame behind the slide stop hole and "M 1911 A1 U.S.ARMY" is roll-stamped in front of it. The opposite side of the frame is stamped with the "FJA" Ordnance inspection mark vertically above the magazine release and a "P" proof mark below it. A "P" proof mark is stamped on the top of the slide between the rear sight and the ejection port. "ITHACA GUN Co. INC./ITHACA, N.Y." is roll stamped in two lines on the left side of the slide.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 98% of the original parkerized finish. Bright metal is visible in the proof marks, serial number, Ordnance escutcheon and final inspection mark correctly were properly all stamped after the pistol was parkerized. Finish wear is limited to some minor edge wear and storage marks. The barrel retains about 90% of the original blue finish. The brown plastic stocks are in excellent condition. This is an excellent, original example of a late production Ithaca M1911A1 Automatic Pistol.
