This is an amazing find. There are only a few in the United States as most decommissioned flame throwers remained in Europe following WWII . The ones that we have come across have sold in One Day for $10,000-$20,000 range. Original WWII flamethrower backpack used at the conclusion of the original cut of the Substitute music video, in which the gingerbread man battles the ATF, who are shooting back with .30 cal belt fed machine gun, and pistols, and finally destroy him with a U.S. G.I. flamethrower. This WWII-era US military surplus flamethrower, as canvas back pad is stenciled, ?US 47,? and metal frame is stenciled, ?Red Lion Cabinet Co., Mar. 7 1944, U. S. Cont. W-12-036 QM.2958,? and is very rare and collectible in its own right. Frame measures 15.25 x 24 and unit weighs approximately 25 pounds. The wand is absent, as most were destroyed by the military when the flamethrowers were decommissioned. In very good condition, with various dings and scratches to paint. This original WWII flamethrower backpack, was acquired by Tom Rainone, (Substitute video producer/director) from Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead. It was worn by guest star Michael S.
