This is an example of a WWII production British Enfield No.4 MK 1 sniper rifle with a No. 32 MK1 scope. This was the standard British sniper rifle that was developed in the late 1930s with over 26,000 manufactured it was used throughout WWII, Korea and into the 1960s when it was replaced by the L42 model. The left side of the butt socket is marked "M 47 C/1943/AV0178/TR". It is fitted with the original blade front sight with ear protectors and a No. 4, MKI adjustable folding rear sight. It is mounted with the correct WWII smooth semi-straight grip walnut stock and forend set. With a removable screw-on birch cheekpiece and mazak-gray alloy metal buttplate. The stock is unnumbered and unproofed. The forend bears only the rifle serial number. The rifle is fitted with the standard No. 32 MK1 sniper scope that is marked on top of the tube "TEL. SIGHTING/No. 32 MK1/No.1844/OS 466A" that has only a single post reticle. The mounting bracket is stamped with only the small letters "JG" and the scope rings are numbered 70 and 71 respectively, on the top and bottom half. This rifle is complete with one magazine, a set of dark brown leather lens caps, for the scope, a British No 8 metal scope can, scope adjustment tool, a WWI era, leather sling marked "P-S/G.M.S." a current British sniper veil and a reproduction wooden storage chest.

Very fine with 90% of the arsenal refurbished finish with edge and high spot wear and some minor thinning. The stock, forend and handguards are all in very fine condition with minimal handling marks. Only the forend is numbered and the rifle scope serial number has been restamped on top of the wrist. The scope is very good with clear optics. It has been repainted with the front sunshade, windage, elevation knobs, rear ocular ring now having lost their finish and it is missing its rear sliding sunshade. The mount has also been refurbished. The wooden storage box is a current reproduction/manufacture that closely resembles an original one which has been painted and marked to match an original box. The metal scope can is in very fine condition and also has been repainted overall.
