World War II BSA Production Paratrooper Folding Bicycle
Produced by Birmingham Small Arms for use by the British military in World War II, this bicycle is hinged at the center to be folded in half, with a pair of sliding metal bars for footrests, and could be folded up for easy transport. Though few were actually used in combat by the paratroopers, due to the introduction of gliders large enough to handle motor vehicles, some saw use on Gold, Sword and Juno Beaches during Operation Overlord. Equipped with Schwinn grips, a Sturmey-Archer 3-speed transmission, Brooks seat, and an unmarked air pump. The front bar is marked with a black arrow, the BSA crossed rifle mark is present on the main post, and "BSA" is cut into the main gear.
