Manufactured April, 1918 during WWI. Hooded blade and ladder sights. "SA/4-18" dated barrel with the typical WWI production features which include a Type "S" stock with grasping grooves, two reinforcing bolts and a smooth buttplate with a trapdoor. The receiver is marked "U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903./853010". The left side of the stock is marked with an "R" beneath the bolt release and the "W.F.S." cartouche. Complete with a "RIA" marked leather sling.

Condition: Very fine as partially refinished. The rifle retains 95% of the arsenal parkerized finish with some sharp edge wear and marks from use and handling. The trigger guard is a reblued replacement. The wood is very fine with sharp cartouche marks and some handling wear. The rear handguard has a small crack at the rear of the right side. The left side of the stock above the trigger has an oval shaped ding with a couple of dings on the right buttstock. The sling is cracked from age and showing verdigris on the brass hardware. Mechanically excellent.
