World War I Spandau Arsenal Gewehr 98 Bolt Action Rifle with a Scarce Set of Low Light Sights

Manufactured in 1917, the blade front and "ski-ramp" tangent rear sights have been enhanced with a set of low light combat sights; a flip-up white bead that clamps onto the barrel, and a machined adjustable block with 2 white lines that attached to the rear, with the rear notch visible between the lines. The user can use the standard front sight, or flip up the bead which is more visible during periods of increased glare or shadow. The receiver is marked "crown/SPANDAU/1917", and matching numbers on the bolt, and floor plate with partials on the barrel bands. Smooth pistol grip stock, with sling swivels and a smooth, flat buttplate.

Very good plus, with 30% of the original blue finish, showing a mixed brown and gray patina overall, minor handling marks and light spotting. The stock is very good as lightly sanded at the toe, with mild dents. Mechanically excellent. Sights are fine.
