Dramatic original color 41 x 27 World War I poster from 1917, featuring artwork by Edmund M. Ashe depicting an injured American soldier valiantly about to throw a grenade into a German trench. Black text across the top reads, “Lend the way they Fight,” and red text across the bottom reads, “Buy Bonds to your Utmost.” Printed in the bottom border is “F-207” and “The W. F. Powers Co. Litho; N.Y.” Poster has been professionally linen-backed to a slightly larger size. Several small edge chips and tears (many previously repaired with thin strips of toned tape), none of which extend into the main image, otherwise fine condition.
