World War I German 1915 Dated DWM Luger Pistol

This is an excellent example of early WWI German 1914 pattern Luger as used by all German forces. These DWM pistols exhibited the best fit and finish of the WWI pistols and have an all rust blued finish with straw colored small parts. The top of the chamber area is dated 1915 and the front toggle is marked "DWM". The right side of the barrel extension has the three "crown/ gothic letter" proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof. The Imperial Eagle proof is also marked on the top, rear section of the barrel, left side of the breechblock and right side of the barrel extension. The upper safety position and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN". It is fitted with the standard checkered walnut grips, and it has fixed sights, with the stock lug on the back strap. It is complete with the correct nickel plated magazine body with the wooden base that is unnumbered.

Manufucture: DWM
Model: 1914
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Guage: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue/straw colors
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 104b

Very fine with 95% of the slightly faded original blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear with actual blue loss on the front edges of the frame rails, the muzzle area, the side plate hump and the lower ends of the grip straps. The versions small parts retain 30% of their original straw colors and the grips are in fine condition with a nice matching dark brown color on both sides, with nice checkering overall with some minor light pressure dents on the left side with some minor wear and flat spots on the lower sections of the grips. Mechanically fine, but hold open does not engage due to weak magazine spring. The Luger has matching numbers except for the magazine which is unnumbered and has an old crack through the wooden base which has now opened up with age.
