Standard markings as well as spurious Cyrillic letters "ANGL. ZAKAZY" stamped on the left side of the receiver, which translate as "English Order". The Russian Government purchased some 51,000 commercial caliber .45 Government pistols from Colt. They were serial numbered between C23000 and C89000, but not all inclusive. Factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, blue finish, grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped to Simmons Hardware Co. in St. Louis, Mo. On October 12, 1916.
