Important Visalia Stock Saddle Co. Trophy Saddle won by Joella Mildred Irwin in 1916. Adorned with silver presentation plate and raised cursive sterling overlay iwith inscription: “Presented To Joella Mildred Irwin – Champion Lady Relay Rider of the World – by Visalia Stock Saddle Co. San Francisco California.” High back, full seat catalog pattern No. 965 with tapaderos and classic Visalia fine rose design carving mounted with silver trim and conchos including bound cantle and gullet, high relief cast corners featuring heavy gauge roses and floral string conchos. A very fancy and extremely historic saddle that is actually pictured in Visalia cat No. 19 (c. 1919) with the comment “Two of these saddles were made for the Misses Irwin, daughter of C.B. Irwin, the show man. After a number of years of hard service with the show on the road they are in good condition, with the silver work as firm and good as new.”
