Embroidered flight-flown mission patch, worn by Mission Specialist Sherwood ‘Woody’ Spring on his powder blue flight suit during the second flight of the Space Shuttle Atlantis in 1985. The patch is affixed to a 12 x 10 crew systems presentation to Spring stating “This original patch worn during your STS-61B Mission,” and signed in black felt tip, “Woody Spring, Mission Specialist,” Presentation is also signed on the reverse, “I don’t know for certain, but I believe this was worn on the powder blue Shuttle flight suit (The kind we wore before Challenger-after which we went to pressure suits). Woody Spring.” Presentation is matted to an overall size of 14 x 12. In fine condition. Flight-worn mission patches are very rare and thus highly sought after.
