Letter to Acting Secretary of War Benedict Crowell, in full: “Thank you for your letter of the 27th, correcting Mr. Hurley’s impression that there might be certain unemployed tonnage soon. I am today conveying the information to Mr. Hurley himself.” In fine condition. A chair of the US Shipping Board and president of the Emergency Fleet Corporation during the first World War, Edward Nash Hurley was instrumental in transporting the US Army to Europe.
