Two TLSs, each one page, 8 x 9.75, personal letterhead, July–November, 1912. Letters to Justice Samuel Kalisch, who he had appointed as a justice on the New Jersey Supreme Court. The first, in part: “The California situation is a difficult one, and I am very glad, indeed, to have all the light possible on it.” The second, written a week after winning the 1912 presidential election, in part: “I have learned to think of you as a highly valued friend, and know how to appreciate your words of congratulation.” In very good to fine condition, with splits to folds, tears, and areas of paper loss to the earlier letter.
