<B>Woodrow Wilson Shadow Lawn Badge,</B></I> 2.25" x 5", by Whitehead & Hoag, Newark, New Jersey. This elaborate production is anchored by a celluloid portrait of Wilson inset into an ornate brass mount with the maker's name on the verso. A second celluloid, reading "Asst. Sergeant-at-Arms" doubles as a hanger for an American flag ribbon to which the Wilson image is attached. The whole overlays a second ribbon of red, white, and blue upon which is imprinted in gold ink "Democratic Presidential Notification, Shadow Lawn, NJ September 2, 1916." Both ribbons have considerable wear and fraying. The celluloid and brass elements, however, have remained in very fine condition.
