Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 17.75 x 13.5, January 22, 1917. President Wilson appoints Edgar J. Whitehouse as "Postmaster at Unity, in the County of Waldo, State of Maine." Signed at the conclusion by Woodrow Wilson, and countersigned by Postmaster General Albert S. Burleson. Gold foil seal remains affixed to the lower left. Cloth-matted and framed with an engraved plaque and a large color portrait to an overall size of 36.5 x 24.5. In very good to fine condition, with light staining to the top edge, and several vertical creases to the upper right.
