This is an exceedingly rare Great Lakes Region Woodland Native American Indian wonderfully carved ball head and eagle claw war club. The war club is in a very rare and uncommonly seen carved design and is from the 18th to early 19th century. The piece shows the shaft or handle end being deeply carved into an excellent Eagle Claw grasping the "Ball Head" war club. The piece shows rich patina on the wood with a dark coloring indicative of its very early age. Provenance: The piece is from a private museum collection in France and was acquired in England. One of the finest carved "Ball Head" Great Lakes Region war clubs available. The piece is in very well preserved museum quality condition. Measures overall 18 1/8"L with the head being 5.75"x4.25"x4.5".
