Early to mid 19th century old English oak frame is actually the wooden case that held the camera plates in the English cameras of the day. Two tones of wood in cross sections with brass corners, clips and screws comprise the exterior. When unclipped forms a double photo area complete with the center metal cover or single frame option by sliding the front half up,folding back and makeing a unique single frame that sits at a slant with back support or turned sideways with flap on end gives a second option. A most unique multi purpose frame with distinctive character. Aged wood and brass which shows its wear from original use but in excellent condition for the current use. Measures 5L X 5.5D. Both sections accomodate a 4L X 3H photo. The wooden interior has two lips, one for holding the photo, the other, the glass.
