Wonderful pair of D. Egg Percussion Dueling Pistols. 5 ½" octagon barrels are 62 caliber with smoothbores that have some minor pitting that will easily polish out. The barrels retain virtually all of their beautiful brown damascus finish and each is marked "London" on the top flat. The locks and hammers have perfectly executed scrollwork and are each marked "D. Egg" They also retain a small amount of case colors. There is a small crack that extends almost half way through one of the hammers. The wood stocks exhibit excellent workmanship and are finely checkered and oil finished. Each pistol has a swivel type ramrod with a concave head. The pistols are protected in a walnut case with brass hinges and eye hooks; the case measures 17" long, 7 7/8" wide and 2 5/8" high. The inside is lined with a rust colored velvet and a brass tin for patches and an elegant wood percussion cap container are included.
