Group of four certificates issued between 1907-09 from Wonder. 1) Daisy Wonder Mining Company, issued 1907 to George H. Leh for 500 shares at $1 ea. Signed by “Diamondfield” Jack Davis as vice president. Mines: Wonder Mining District printed at the top. Three mining vignettes.2) Victory Wonder Mining Company, issued in 1907 for 50 shares at $1 each to Anna Maria Fitzgerald, signed by W.E. Mattey as president. Tiny fold split at bottom. 3) Re-Organized Alice Mining Company of Wonder, issued in 1909 to Joseph G. Albrecht for 1,000 shares at $1 each. Cactus vignette. 4) Monette Wonder Mining Company, issued in 1907 to S.E. Graves for 100 shares at $1 each. Signed by “Diamondfield” Jack Davis as vice president and M.K. Wheeler as secretary. “Diamondfield” Jack, the famous western gunman was sentenced to hang for two murders Idaho in 1897, but got a reprieve just hours before upon the confession of two other men. Upon his release from prison in 1901, he came and made his fortune in the Nevada mining boom. Two of the four certificates are signed by Davis. All uncancelled. VF.
