Women Abroad. Two letters: 1) Marjorie Post Davies, T.L.S., 2 pp., n.d. but 1930s, on letterhead of Embassy of United States of America at Moscow, to fellow alumnus of Mt. Vernon Seminary, urging financial aid for teachers not covered by insurance. Noteworthy sentiments expressed by Mrs. Davies, wife of F.D.R.'s Ambassador to Russia, and an heiress in her own right. With original envelope, and newspaper clipping. 2) A.L.S. from passenger on ship U.S.M.S. St. Paul, n.d. but early 1900s, 5 pp., writing about her journey to England, and concert on board given by John Philip Sousa and band. With original envelope handstamped "Mail Delayed - Train Late." Split at one fold of letter, edge of envelope with tear. Stamped "Due 10 cents." Interesting pair.
