Broadside “What Good Has Woman Suffrage Done?”
1915, Suffragist Broadside: “A WORD TO THE WISE,” Empire State Campaign Committee, NY, Choice Mint.
9.75” x 7” uncolored broadside, featuring printed excepts from a speech by Congressman Edward T. Taylor, April 24, 1912, in which he details how and why the State of Colorado granted full suffrage to women in 1893, answering such important questions as: “Do Women Vote?” “Do the Bad Women Vote?” “Has the Criminal Vote Been Doubled?” “Has Equal Suffrage Increased Divorce?” and “Has Woman Suffrage Increased Corruption in Politics?” He concludes: “I have lived in Colorado 31 years. I personally know the condition of politics before and since women were granted the suffrage, and I can honestly and conscientiously say that I do not know of any bad effects whatever that woman suffrage has had in the State of Colorado, and I do know of enough good that they have accomplished to fill volumes.”
