Wolf & Klar Engraved Colt Army Special Double Action Revolver with Steer Head Carved Pearl Grips
The included Colt factory letter (a photocopy) confirms the serial number, caliber, barrel length and finish and states that the grips were originally checkered wood and the revolver was shipped to Wolf & Klar of Fort Worth, Texas, on July 16, 1927 as part of a four gun shipment. The revolver features a custom punch dot engraving. The sides of the barrel feature a leaf and vine motif that extends to the sides of the frame which has been further embellished with a zigzag line border, a dot diamond motif background and single floral blossoms on both sides. The cylinder chambers, trigger guard, butt, and the top strap also feature the dot diamond pattern engraving with a zigzag line border on the top strap. The top of the barrel has the two line address/patent marking and "COLT / ARMY / SPECIAL / 38" on the left side, with the Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame (partially engraved over). Fitted with pearl grips. The right grip panel has a craved steer head.
