Nice collection of ephemera and vintage collectibles related to the Wizard of Oz: a circa 1939 British Wizard of Oz card game, complete with 44 playing cards with color images, the instruction booklet, and box; a Cinema Cavalcade Volume II Max cigarettes tobacco card, number 168, entitled ‘The Haunted Woods,’ showing Dorothy, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow; a Spanish-language 5.25 x 3.5 handbill featuring a gorgeous color image of the four main characters; a 5 x 8 flyer billing the film as the “Biggest Screen Sensation Since ‘Snow White,’” which unfolds into an 8 x 20 color advertisement; a 1955 MGM press book; the August 1939 issue of Screen Romances, featuring a vibrant Oz image; cover image removed from the August 20, 1939, edition of the Sunday Mirror; the September 6, 1939, issue of Cinemonde magazine, with Dorothy and the Scarecrow on the cover; and two 15.5 x 21.5 posters, one featuring a comic representation of the film and one showing the main characters and a munchkin scene. Separation to the flap of the card game box and few images clipped out of the press book, otherwise overall fine condition.
