Glossy 10 x 8 photo of Hamilton ‘melting’ as the Wicked Witch of the West, signed and inscribed in blue felt tip to “Bill.” The actress has left a lengthy message of advice, which she starts on the front of the image and then continues for several lines on the reverse. The inscription reads in part, “The advice I would give a teen-ager,—or any age—is don’t do it unless you think you’ll die if you don’t. If you do anyway, finish high school & college. The latter if possible, and learn typing & shorthand to support you while you’re waiting to act. Those are two ready & easily marketable assets…You will lose a lot of parts & play a lot—but there are always disappointments & you have to learn to accept that and pay no attention to them…Other people decide to follow other avenues than being an actor and have become stage managers…or costume designers.” In fine condition, with a few bends and creases, and brushes to some words.
