<B>John Witherspoon and Richard Stockton Document Signed.</B></I> Partly printed diploma in Latin, vellum, 10” x 8”, October 4, 1774. This degree from the College of New Jersey - later Princeton University in 1896 - was conferred upon John N. Cumming and signed by head professor and university president <B>John Witherspoon</B></I> (a Signer of the Declaration of Independence), and professors Jeremy Halsey, John Rodgers, Alex Macwhorter, Robert Harris, <B>Richard Stockton</B></I> (also a Declaration of Independence Signer), and William Shippen. This rare document, with its edges mounted to a paper matte, includes the seal of the College of New Jersey at bottom right and seven 2.25” horizontal cuts in the center (presumably to hold a now-missing ribbon). It is in good condition, trimmed slightly at the top; the signatures have faded to brown. <I>From the collection of Henry E.
