Wisdom of the Heart
From native and primitive America, Africa and the Rain Forests come inspirations from dreams and visions enriched with imagination to suggest the feeling of our connection to the Earth and Nature and Each Other. Extensive travel each year, allows time for gathering earthy treasures in exotic and unusual locations, which are then altered and enhanced to compliment original sculptural forms from wood, stone and other materials. Vickis work is a visual conception of the natural beauty she enjoys so much....from the desert sunsets and lush tropics.......to the alien landscapes in the badlands of Utah .......and the majestic California redwoods, who have watched us for so very long..............A reminder that there is beauty in each of us and in every living thing.
The legends which capture the spirituality and emotion reflected in each sculpture are the artists own words.....to offer deeper meaning and share a more profound awareness of the reason this work is created.
Vicki uses her precious spare time for philanthropic pursuits, family fun and composing music....along with other artistic events and nomadic adventures.
Her creations have been displayed at the White House, the Dallas Museum of Art, Ohio Craft Museum, covered on CBS and NBC programming and Good Morning America on ABC, as well as numerous special events, galleries and museums in 14 states and abroad.
