Churchill, </B></I><B><I>The Great War</B></I></B></I> (London: George Newnes Limited, c.1933), no date but circa 1933, three volumes, 1668 pages, illustrations, red-cloth-binding with red-leather spine and corners, gold lettering and decorations, 8vo (9.75" x 7"). This mammoth work by Churchill originally was published in six volumes as <I>The World Crisis </B></I>during 1923-31. Its reorganization as <I>The Great War</B></I> was intended by Churchill to "make [it] accessible to a very wide public." Heavy on military, political, and diplomatic aspects, it is now valuable primarily for its biographical portraits of major figures in the conflict.
