Winston Churchill Typed Letter Signed, on his Westerham 93 imprinted stationery, one page, 5" x 8", March 22, 1939, to an A.J.Shellard, sending thanks for a letter received. He adds: "I have noted with interest what you say with regard to the international situation." Churchill has handwritten both the greeting and the closing of the letter. Of course, Churchill was highly attuned to anything regarding foreign policy as evidence of Germany's plans for worldwide domination would be clear a few months later with the invasion of Poland in September. After the outbreak of World War II the following year, Churchill would become Prime Minister of the United Kingdom upon the resignation of Neville Chamberlain. With the usual mail folds, the letter has a few stray creases and negligible toning; but remains very good to near fine and suitable for framing and display.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
