Third issue in the Ertl Wings of Texaco series, this authentic to scale replica of the 1931 Stearman Biplane is in mint collectible condition.

The 'Texaco 14' Stearman was purchased for a little under $15,000 from the Stearman Aircraft Company of Wichita, Kansas in 1931. Built with a 300 hp Wasp Jr. radial engine which delivered a top speed of 145 m.p.h. and a maximum range of 720 miles, earning praises from young pilots for being a remarkably easy and forgiving plane to fly. This particular plane was promptly put to work as a rapid transportation vehicle for the Texaco General Domestic Sales Department under J.D. Jernigan. It was later transferred to the Northwestern Territory and then on to the Central Territory and continued to serve Texaco until its retirement in 1936.

Both plane and box are in original unused mint condition and includes all original paperwork. Acquired from an estate collection of a Texaco corporate employee.
