Winchester model 42, 410ga, 2-1/2”, pump-action shotgun, factory engraved, showing addition of ventilated rib and Cutts compensator, serial #16929, factory marked “Trap” on the frame. The barrel measures 26” with compensator, the gun shows a light factory pattern of vignette of duck on left surrounded by light scrolls. The metal surfaces show 90-95% of an old refinish. The stocks have been upgraded and show a fancy checkered walnut stock, with flaming burl wood grain and diamond pattern in forend. An English type leather recoil pad has been added. The stock measures 13-5/8” to the end of the wood, 14-1/2” to the end of the pad. The safety has been removed. The action is good, the bore is very good and is just dirty, may clean to excellent. Probably upgraded by Kerrs in the 1950’s, but engraving is definitely a factory pattern. A rare factory-trap marked 42. From the Robert Petersen Collection. Est: $2,000 - $4,000
