Winchester model 1907 self-loading rifle in .351 caliber, blued finish, Indian carved stock, showing forest and Teepees in forend. Portrait of horse on left, with checkerboard and pine tree decoration. Right side shows pine trees and nudelady with title "My Eve". The metal surfaces show 30-50% blue, stocks show light refinishing after carving. A beautifully made doe-skin rifle case is included, which is beaded, ornately decorated, showing tradecloth interior and fancy buttons anddied areas of buckskin and long fringe. The case is very good to near fine condition and show some slight spotting and normal aging, and we would date the case about 1910-15, which is the same period as the rifle. The identity of the tribe isunknown but show similarities to Yakima tribe and Northwestern tribes located from Oregon to Washington. An interesting gun with a great rifle case. (Note: Galleries in Santa Fe would ask $3,000+ for this rifle case alone) Est: $750 -$1,500+
