Winchester model 1894 special order rifle in .38-55 caliber. 26" round barrel, button mag, crescent butt, Lyman tang sight, #499840. The rifle remains in good to very good original condition showing approx. 70-80% original blue onbarrel, evenly toning and drifting to patina, with some erosion and pinprick pitting, scaling, just starting. The rear sight has been removed and forward section left as plug or blank in barrel dovetail. The frame shows 50-60% original bluethat is drifting with some modeling, aging, and developing patina. The hammer and lever show strong traces of case hardening. The stocks have been lightly cleaned with steel wool but no sanding and are good with some small losses,normal aging. The markings are sharp, the action is good, the bore is fair with some wear and dark areas but may clean. Est: $1,250 - $2,500
